Leadership Licensure ProgramsPresented by: MSSAA — Teachers21 — MASCDThe Leadership Licensure Program (LLP) and Leadership Licensure Program for Superintendents (LLPS) are rigorous, comprehensive programs that are founded on the knowledge base of effective teaching and school administration to prepare teachers who aspire toward school and district leadership. Theory andpractical experience are integrated throughout the programs to equip graduates with a powerful toolbox of knowledge and skills that supports their growth as educational leaders. The curriculum and faculty for the LLP and LLPS programs are provided for and overseen by Teachers21, which has over a decade of experience in providing training and coaching to school administrators. Leadership Licensure ProgramThe LLP occurs over one year and integrates coursework, fieldwork, and a performance assessment to give aspiring leaders a practical understanding of what an administrator's day-to-day job entails in a wider context of reflective practice. Upon successful completion of the program, candidates will meet the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Professional Standards and be eligible for licensure as a Principal/Assistant Principals or Director/Supervisor. As of June 2008, the LLP will have prepared 8 cohorts of aspiring principal, assistant principals, and supervisor-director candidates, for a total of 150 educators Leadership Licensure Program for SuperintendentsThe LLPS was launched in 2007 to bring the rigorous, integrated approach of the LLP to a program tailored to the specific needs of district administrators. In this year long program, school leaders broaden their knowledge of what district leadership requires through a balanced mix of coursework, fieldwork, and performance assessment. Upon completion, candidates will meet the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education ’s Professional Standards and be eligible for licensure as a Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent. Though our partnership with Lesley University, candidates accepted to LLPS will have the opportunity to apply to the Lesley University doctoral program via a streamlined admissions process. Admission to the doctoral program via this process is dependent on successful completion of LLPS. LLPS is facilitated through a partnership with the READS Collaborative.
